Welcome!

Hey folks!

I know it’s been a LONG time since I’ve updated this blog!  Hopefully the reason why was worth it.

Welcome to thaddeushunt.com!!! 😀

I’ve been working on the design of this site for several months now.  My approach has always been to create something that is all of the following:

  • Clean, yet elegant.
  • Simple to navigate (a search function is coming, I promise) and uncluttered.
  • A site that loads quickly, is easy to read and just plain nice to look at.
  • A site that looks the same in every modern browser out there (even IE 6) and it should rock on most cell phones!

On all fronts I feel like I’ve succeeded!  Though this is, and always will be, a total work in progress.  Please poke around and let me know if there is anything that needs tweaking or is (god forbid) broken.

Thanks for visiting!!  Please come back often as I blog more and keep adding additions to my new home on the web!

All the best,

Tad

  1. 1) excellent websites, Tad (and even better to hear all of you are doing so well)

    2) On the internet quite a bit, but don’t always get into the “how it works” parts — please tell me more about your pictures (automatically reshaped/resized, better clarity than one usually sees) — what’s the program. One feature I didn’t notice, was the ability to save pictures.

    3) What’s Tim up to now (and what does the acronym stand for of the graduation pictures you had posted)

    4) Miss seeing your parents, but am sure they’re having fun down south?

    5) Very nice to include pictures of your dog (and I thought the picture of you and Tess with all the drinks in front of you was hillarious — here, I thought you two got along just fine, but now I know how you two deal with each other! ha ha

    6) keep up the good work,

    David

    Hey man,

Was worried that if I replied to the comment on my new site that you may not get the response so, I’m sending you an email instead.

So without further adieu, the answers to your questions! And thanks so much for visiting my site and for the feedback. Answers are below your questions in “[]”.

    1) excellent websites, Tad (and even better to hear all of you are doing so well)

[Thanks man! We are doing well! The bulk of us are down here in the North Carolina now and, for the most part, we’re loving it.]

    2) On the internet quite a bit, but don’t always get into the “how it works” parts — please tell me more about your pictures (automatically reshaped/resized, better clarity than one usually sees) — what’s the program. One feature I didn’t notice, was the ability to save pictures.

[The “how it works” has taken about half of my lifetime to figure out so I won’t try to sum it up in this email. Sorry!

As far as the pictures are concerned, they are rendered and saved in a web friendly format in Photoshop. WordPress, the technology the site is built on, can do a lot of heavy lifting in this area as well if you have picture that isn’t too detailed. A lot of the pics that show up on my sites are candids so I don’t offer an obvious way to save the photos, but if you just HAVE to have that pic of me making a funny face, you can right click it and choose the “save linked file” choice that’s available to you. It varies depending on the operating system or which browser you’re currently using.]

    3) What’s Tim up to now (and what does the acronym stand for of the graduation pictures you had posted).

[Tim’s living in Charlotte VT with his wonderful wife Martha, their incredibly daughter Annabelle and a second child that will be born literally any day now! That pic was taken at his graduation day from Officer’s candidate school. Which, by the way, is what OCS stands for.]

    4) Miss seeing your parents, but am sure they’re having fun down south?

[Mom and Dad are doing really well down here. It was a big adjustment for them but I think they are really enjoying the warmer weather and the souther hospitality. They really dig being close to most of their children now too.]

    5) Very nice to include pictures of your dog (and I thought the picture of you and Tess with all the drinks in front of you was hillarious — here, I thought you two got along just fine, but now I know how you two deal with each other! ha ha

[Actually we have two dogs, though they kinda look identical. Their names are Cadence and Mathias.

Tess and I have always, and continue to get along famously. She lives down here now but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate whenever we see each other with a little “refreshment”. 😉 ]

    6) keep up the good work,

    David

[Thank you kind sir! You do the same!]

  3. I popped over from Mel’s blog. I had to check it out. I do have WordPress blog too but honestly don’t go there often. I have been hoping to learn how to spruce up my blog someday, I am html challenged. Maybe one day you’ll move on to Blogger too and I’ll be in touch
